Dj K-Sets is a compilation project about popular music mainly focused in the vocal styles of Mesopotamian origin. It was developed and managed from 2001 by the multidisciplinary artist Manuel Sánchez (Cartagena, 1979) with the occasional collaboration of many Fine Arts mates from the faculty located in the old and small Spanish city of Cuenca.

He started during outlandish student flat events playing tapes of second hand classic Techno, Gypsy Rumba purchased in gas stations, and Arabic musicassette from the petty trade established on working-class population districts as Lavapies in Madrid.

After, the record label archive was increased with genres as Turkish, Kurdish, Persian, Armenian, Assyrian, Jewish... through trips to Istanbul, Tehran, Berlin, Damascus, Beirut, Aleppo... ordering online to Riad, Tel-Aviv, New York, Los Angeles... and as kindly gifts from the traveller friends.

At present, gathering activity includes CD, mp3 and VCD. The dj sets are performed through car-radios and mobile phones, and it's booked by art centers as Museo Reina Sofía and futurist festivals as Nuits Sonores.
